Small Modern Wine Cellars – A Valuable Upgrade to Your Home

Modern Wine Cellar With Clear Glass Enclosure

Small Modern Wine Cellar in the Hallway

Building a wine cellar that will match a luxurious California home’s stylish and fancy structure is indeed a challenging task. Coastal Custom Wine Cellars has years of experience creating small modern wine cellars of any design. And with our expertise in the industry, we have proudly built a compact but beautiful wine storage with advanced features that make the house even more expensive-looking.

A Small Yet Striking Modern Wine Cellar in the Hallway

At Coastal Custom Wine Cellars, we always prioritize the overall design and structure of the entire house. The team’s goal is to develop a wine cellar design that does not feel out of place with the other surroundings. The client’s California home is already designed with a modern, luxurious style, and she wanted to upgrade the empty space at the end of the hallway into a modern-styled small wine room for her existing wine collection.

The client’s living room has flat moldings with a black and white theme, strongly suggesting a contemporary design with minimalistic features. The house also has large glass windows and glass doors located around the perimeter. Even the dining room and other areas follow a black and white theme and occasional monochrome color schemes for the walls and the carpeted floors.

Andre Trabazos, our master designer, has years of experience designing and building custom small modern wine cellars and our team of experts. He considered the house’s overall design and placed the wine cellar at the end of the hallway in the final layout, making it the perfect place for the wine collections to be in constant view. His team also came up with a similar modern minimalistic design by using metal peg wine racking and a glass wine cellar door, including LED lighting elements that perfectly balance the white-painted walls of the entire hallway.

Industrial Strength Wine Cooling System with Temperature and Humidity Control

Small Modern Wine Cellar Control Panel for Cooling

Small Wine Cellar Cooling Unit with Modern Temperature and Humidity Control Panel

Investing in a modern, high-quality cooling system with advanced features for this wine cellar is highly advisable. We decided to go for an industrial ducted cooling system to maximize the small space of the wine room. A ducted wine cooling system lets you store multiple bottles of wine and keeps them at the perfect temperature and humidity.

The ducted system we chose includes a small temperature & humidity control panel. The panels feature a user-friendly LED display and touchpad for easy system operation and high-quality components to ensure reliable performance. The custom grille, visible above the wine cellar, perfectly hides the cooling unit overhead.

The panel is built outside the wine room to monitor and control temperature and humidity. It also provides access to different modes, which allows the user to adjust various settings like temperature and humidity, and turn the LED lights on or off.

Triple Deep Modern Racking System for Small Wine Cellars

Small Modern Wine Cellars Can Also Be Luxurious!

The Triple Deep Wine rack is a space-saving, stylish and sturdy way to store your wine bottles. The material used for the pegs is not just metal coating on the surface. They are made from real metal, making them sturdier and capable of securely holding three bottles for each set of pegs.

It can hold around 150 wine bottles to fully maximize the tiny space in which the cellar is built. Additionally, its label-forward design makes the labels much easier to read even from outside the room.

The metal wine racking also has a unique modern design that looks elegant and fashionable. The pegs were attached to a gray wall that elevates the modern look the client is aiming for. One of the great things about VintageViews’ metal wine racks (W-series or Vino Pin Series) is that they are designed for easy installation and can be anchored onto any sturdy material. In this case, a marble wall was used to elevate the look of the background and it was were the wine pins were attached to. In previous projects, we were also able to use Alder wood as a backer board for the racks. Whether you use concrete, marble, or wood on your main wall, the metal racks will stay on for a long time if installed correctly.

Adding the LED back panel highlights the entire collection further, enhancing the mood and beauty of the small wine closet. The modern LED lighting makes the room an eye-catching location in the hallway. It also features a display nook at the center where the client can showcase her favorite wine bottles.

Modernism and Minimalism – A Simple Approach with a Modern Touch

Modernism and minimalism are indeed considered popular interior design styles nowadays. The exterior of this California House gives off a classic home inspired by colonial architecture. However, the house’s interiors exude a perfect mix of modern and minimalistic themes.

The dining and living rooms utilize natural lighting from their large glass doors and windows, simple modern furniture, and clean lines for a minimalist interior. We also incorporated the same elements and style to the wine cellar by attaching a frameless glass door as the cellar’s enclosure that provides a clean placement of the wine collection in the hallway.

Apart from contributing to the cellar’s overall modern aesthetic, our frameless glass door is there to support the insulation of the cellar. It works together with the vapor barrier and cooling system to create a perfectly climate-controlled environment.  All our glass doors are tempered to inhibit condensation and they are manufactured by only the most trusted wine cellar door specialists in the industry.

The gray wall is designed with a cement finish where the pegs are attached, contrasting the white walls and the dark-toned floors. The balanced transition from dark to white hues perfectly represents the wine cellar’s simple yet modern and luxurious atmosphere.
