Barolo Door of This Wine Cellar Goes Perfectly with the Stylish Wooden Wine Racks

You can never go wrong with installing wooden wine racks for your wine cellar. This wine storage design has stood the test of time. And, even now, many people still prefer to use wooden wine racking systems over modern metal wine racks. They like the class and sophistication that comes with a wooden wine racking system.

You can readily see the classy wooden wine racks inside through the glass panels of the Barolo door.

Custom wood wine racks are so versatile. You can install it in almost any wine cellar: whether it is modern, traditional, or transitional. It is undoubtedly an excellent way to showcase your wine collection. But what’s interesting about this project is that our client, in addition to enjoying wine, also enjoys spirits.

To showcase some of his favorite bottles, the team designed and built LED lighting panels in the wine room. It is a great way to showcase his exquisite alcohol collection. Each panel is lined with lighting that illuminates bottles placed on it. The subtle glow coming from the LED lighting passes through the liquor bottle. This effect adds emphasis to the impressive bottles.

In addition to the fantastic presentation of the liquor collection, this wine cellar has a Barolo door with an arched top and beveled glass insert. Wooden components of the custom wine cellar door were made of laminated veneer lumber from knotty Alder. The Alder wood was treated and sealed beforehand to minimize air gaps. The knotty Alder wood parts and the top arch of the Barolo door complement the dominant wooden elements and arches in the client’s home. This Barolo door also has an automatic door bottom, which seals the wine room when you close it.

Beautiful Wooden Wine Racking in this Home Wine Cellar

The alcohol lit-up panel is not the only notable feature of this wine cellar. The racking system looks great in this wine cellar with its rustic lacquer finish of knotty Alder. Not to be left out, there are reveal racks and horizontal display racks. Both racks are lined with LED lighting. It makes reading wine labels easier.

The wine cellar also has custom wooden wine racks with cork forward bottle orientation. Cork forward racks are perfect if you are looking to maximize the bottle capacity in your wine cellar. You’ll be surprised by the number of bottles it can store, especially if it is either double-deep or triple deep. Clients with limited space usually install this type of custom wine racking system for their wine cellar.

There’s a custom-made wooden arch in the center of the wine cellar. It is also made of knotty Alder wood and has a lacquer finish. Here, the client can decant his wines or display pieces that add flair to his wine cellar.

Below the arch are a couple of diamond bins where the client can store up to 12 bottles in each bin. Just slightly above the diamond bins is a drawer where the client can store other items inside the wine room. Lastly, directly above the arch is a top-shelf with lighting built in it. It is a perfect spot to display his rare wines or liquors.

Inconspicuous Cooling System with Minimal Noise for the Wine Room

Another great feature of this wine cellar is its cooling system. You can’t see or hear the cooling system inside the wine cellar. For this project, the team installed a US Cellars System HS unit. This unit was ducted into the attic. In contrast, the condensing unit was placed outside in the garden.

This setup removes the ugly sight of the mechanical parts of the cooling unit. The ducting system, on the other hand, nullifies the sound coming from the cooling unit. This ingenious way of setting up the cooling system gave a massive boost to the overall aesthetics of the wine cellar.
